Dr. Said provides you with pre-operative instructions to prepare for breast augmentation surgery. On the day of surgery, you will meet with a nurse and anesthesiologist.
After taking your vitals and changing into a dressing gown, Dr. Said meets with you to go over any last-minute questions. Markings are drawn on your skin to prepare for surgery. This helps ensure a good cosmetic result. While you lay on the operating room table, an anesthesiologist administers drugs that make you feel sleepy. Your vitals are constantly monitored during surgery. Once you are asleep, Dr. Said makes a small incision, often in the breast crease.

The surgery itself is not painful since it takes place under general anesthesia. Most patients rate the pain during recovery as moderate. You should expect some soreness or aching that can last several weeks.
